Advancement
Under the direction of the Pacific Harbors Council Advancement and Recognition Committee, the District Advancement and Recognition Committee is responsible for managing the advancement program.
Specific duties include:
  • Training merit badge counselors
  • Training unit leaders on advancement issues
  • Reviewing and approving Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project proposals
  • Reviewing Eagle Scout Rank Applications for completeness and accuracy
  • Maintaining a list of individuals on the Eagle Scout board of review team
  • Scheduling and holding Eagle Scout Boards of Review
  • Serving as a step in the appeals process for advancement issues
  • Developing, in conjunction with special needs Scouts, their parents and unit leadership, alternate requirement proposals for Council consideration
